Dear Readers,

As we speed into the hectic holiday season, I have a couple of special gifts for you.

If you visit my Web site and click on Articles, you’ll find my ode to the original pilgrim wives who ventured across the sea in a boat I wouldn’t have sailed in across Harbor Lake in Los Angeles. (Of course, there’s a rumor that Reggie the alligator is still swimming around in there somewhere, which may color my opinion and resistance to such an adventure.)

You’ll find my second gift when you click On the Lite Side at my Web site, and this gift will bring you smiles and laughter all year long. I recently taught an online class, The Art of Writing Jokes. The students were terrific! So terrific, in fact, that they have allowed me to pick the funniest of their creative efforts and put them on my Web site for all of you to enjoy. We change the jokes every couple of weeks, so visit often.
