Dear Readers and Friends,
Congratulations to Ruby from Coon Valley, Wisconsin, winner
of the May contest. We have a new contest up for the month of June - a $10
Barnes & Noble gift card is at stake as well as a yummy taste of chocolate.
Don't forget to sign up again.
Of course, the big news is that
Make No Promises
should be in bookstores NOW! Whoopee! For an author, the time between writing a
book and seeing it on the shelf seems like forever. (And sometimes it is) I
think Make No Promises may also make it to Wal-mart and Target stores; I'd
love to hear of sightings if you happen to see it there.
If you purchase Make No Promises and would like an
autograph, send me an SASE and I'll send you an autographed bookplate (which
will look a whole lot like a fancy Avery label with my signature): P.O. Box 505,
Torrance, CA 90508. If you live in the Los Angeles area or will be at the
Romance Writers of America conference in Atlanta, check my
events calendar for
signings I have scheduled. I'd love to meet you in person.
Meanwhile, I'm back from my ten-day research trip to Italy.
I learned several important lessons: Italians build really incredible churches;
only a very courageous American should attempt to drive in Italian cities; and,
if you break your electrical converter that changes European power from 220v to
115v, do not believe your B&B hostess that it's okay to plug your curling iron
directly into the 220v line. If you fail to heed this advice the result is the
acrid smell of burning hair, smoke rising from the top of your head. . . and
very short bangs. Sigh......
Happy reading. . .
